Inizierei questo discorso argomentando sulla traduzione, con sufficiente temerarietà e da non addetta ufficialmente ai lavori: tradurre è “far passare attraverso”. Ma in questa traslazione la cosa traslata muta solo di posto o anche di sostanza, come vorrebbe la fisica moderna, o quella di Eraclito, se si preferisce? Insomma vige la legge dell’impenetrabilità dei corpi, oppure no? La parola che passa da una lingua a un’altra resta la stessa? Ma il solo fatto di leggere non significa comunque tradurre?
Pensiamo soltanto a come esista un unico originale, e tante traduzioni; il testo è uno e immutabile, le sue traduzioni invecchiano.
Se la poesia è passaggio dal lato diurno al lato notturno della parola, intorno al cui suono fondamentale è possibile percepire gli armonici, così la traduzione poetica è dunque un sosia, ma non una copia: un gemello, che vive di vita propria.
